The Memories Series is about practicing gratitude and romanticizing everyday moments. These compositions come directly from my life and are based on photos of childhood and adulthood. Although I had a difficult childhood, there are still moments they can look back on and remember fondly; this series acts as a reminder for me to step back and appreciate little joys in life, especially during times of hardship. The paintings are meant to have a dreamy quality, as if you’re recalling the moment in your mind. Although static, the compositions imply movement and a narrative intended for the viewer to relate to.
